1.
She comes across the street The one where you and I meet Her every step bends the rules of time The laws of time You’re staring at yourself Pretending you’re well A storm brewing up inside New waves to ride How many more sides are there left to combine? Truth comes with a heartache But who knows what a heart is for Truth comes with all its other siblings on the run Reality is a myth It’s just stuff surrounding knee-deep So please be careful not to drown I need you around You know that eyes can lie There are no rules to abide Take care at who’s riding on your right Side by side This rollercoaster only goes one way down
2.
We’re the unknown, Worthy of nothing We learned how to fall While you were trying to crawl Stare at your sons Bury your crosses Judge every womb Food for the masses Ready or not It’s here where you fall Ready or not If nobody’s at the wheel And nobody has been roused How come we scream and squeal Like pigs at the slaughterhouse? We’re still afloat Though riding on low wind There’s still place on the boat But can you cross your moat You were trading your stocks Negotiating hereafters When the fleet left the docks Are you sure that we’re the ones to mock? You can still buy hope Just know that it’s bootleged You know it’s your fault So when you knock on our door We’ll know your name But we don’t care for your blame No we don’t need your blame A million lies away Lie the fake gods you pray Though blind and crippled to death You’ll chase them to your last breath Every single time we wonder if we can or if we will be ready for the endtimes for this landfill to become everything we see the very air we breathe well let’s remember when push comes to shove We’re just real in our flesh and bones, real One day we’ll flee the den This shitshow will fade away Then all these sprouts and stems Will grow and cover your graves Will cover your graves We’re the unknown, Worthy of nothing We learned how to fall While you were trying to crawl
3.
Reassure the neighbors We are right on time We’ll choose all the flavors We’ll bring all the wine We are young and able We are satisfied On this side of the table Life‘s alright And the sun shines bright You’re right I’ll side with you on this But don’t tell the other guests Is this real or a fable With some lies on the side I thought I was a rebel With no place left to hide Joke’s on me, I jinxed it, but just wait and see I can get back on my feet, with the right amount of time and Oh wait How did we die? I don’t know right from wrong Or where this bloody doubts are from If I should be on my own Whether I should go at it alone All of this is lost on me, all of this, all this Oh my, we probably should have chosen better the way we die tonight Once more
4.
World of One 03:17
Here it comes The big void As far as I can hear Absence of noise World of empty World of one Land of plenty that once was No more Contemplating all that’s lost All we were Hear the whisper The muttered hum All that’s ending Has just begun Here in my head I’m the one I’m the setting sun Concrete ocean Once of turf Round this scorched earth I wonder who am i talking to, Is it the me I know, or the you I knew? Sea of silence Sky of lead A lonesome journey Up ahead Stuck and battered Horizon blur Equilibrium Only my voice Travels north Echoes round the earth Stuck and battered Horizon blur Equilibrium Here in my head I’m the one I’m the setting sun
5.
Plenty of time How do you say You’re out of your league? Any old line Could come in handy Silent like a mime Preach but don’t reap Sturdy old mind I wanna leave you behind Usual hypocrite You’ll be by my side ‘til the day I die It’s you and me, my heart I’ll bet we’ll stay apart We can’t go on despising any longer We can’t just go on swirling anymore So let me take a stroll What do you say? Raising your fists But not for a prayer How do you slumber How do you face another day? I’m starting to fray I’m not that afraid It’s the toll you pay For drifting so far For being so helpless right from the start It’s you and me, my heart I’ll bet we’ll stay apart We can’t go on despising any longer We can’t just go on swirling anymore So let me take this call All fine, yours, mine Here you are idling away Here you are hustling and gray This time I’ll find out How to behave the proper way How do you face another day We can’t go on despising any longer We can’t just go on swirling anymore So let me take control
6.
Excuses 04:27
We came down on this road It’s always the long one, always alone People, people we care for Some of them won’t come along in the storm, out in the storm Restless, tracing your footsteps Facing the meekness, racing alone Weary, weary and longing But loud and outspoken, bold and unbroken, outcome unknown Oh no, I can’t recall all the little stories that I told myself But I, I’ve waited long enough It’s all like a dream It’s all I could dream We’ll go down on this road It’s always the tough one, always abrupt
7.
Water’s rising And it caught you on your front lawn Where do we go, “nowhere” she says Ongoing crisis Bouncing off and on your mind’s walls Here you are, in the back of your head Feeling restrained And the answer you get when you ask yourself It’s half faith, half wait, half struggle Get away your numb senses Get yourself away Get away, forget/pretend You’re just far away Get away your life in vain It’s just right here today Numb in stasis But we keep on marching forward Unknown bound, out of control Keep yourself shut Try avoiding all dark corners But you had to go Had to go there That you could spare Restless in vain It’s half faith, half wait, half struggle It’s half faith, half wait, half rage, half struggle Get away your numb senses Get yourself away Get away, forget/pretend You’re just far away Get away your life in vain It’s just right here today When you’re spiraling down you go out of control

about

Gracious beyond belief, Turin based jangle rockers blessed Thom Yorke's new project and changed their name from Smile to The Wends, just to try and and assist the indie fledglings.

Thankfully nothing other than the name has changed, as the foursome follow up on the critically acclaimed The Name of This Band is Smile album from 2021, to heave similar jangled riffs straight through a blue collar rock core, that is only really found in worlds industrialized cities.

Fractious yet melodic, immersive yet battered, It;'s Here Where You Fall is the sound of the band cranking up the rock in the most lucid way possible.

about

The Wends Turin, Italy

The Wends represent a new chapter for the Turin, Italy band with the short-lived name of "Smile". The new name reshapes the identity in more obscure and nervous songs that shift from jangly arpeggios to sharper post-punk guitars, and from a melodic singing to shouted, more expressive vocals. ... more
